+ New Zealand Herald Office. Friday evening. The Customs duties to-day amounted to £2,713 19s sd. Messrs. AitTUim and JJonnt.B's Weekly Kb. PORT.— have been six sale* by auction this week, all of them at the mart, ami have been wellattended. .Monday, drapery, clothing:, fancy goods, Ac. ; Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday poultry, produce, fruit, Ac.; Wednesday, household furniture and effects ; Thursday, freehold property in Arthurstreet, Ponsonby. Produce lias been in fair request, at ab lit last week's prices; a large quantity has been sold. Potatoes do not improve in price, but .supply and demand has been more fairly mot. Onions not plentiful ; pi ices firmer. Vegetables have been again brought forward in very largo quantity. Fresh butter has been very plentiful; the better quality has brought a fair price: salt butter Ik but little asked for Cheese is not brisk : must be really Kooii to command attention ; prices rule low. (load bacon ami hams are scarce ; most of tint to hand second class or infeiior, and is difficult to work off at low prices. Fresh eggs have been wanted. Fruit of all kinds has come to hand iu very largo quantity; all have sold at good prices, en the whole higher than it did last week. We are now holding three sales per week for fruit, munch, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Poultry : A nood supply of fowls ami ducks ;no turkeys or geese. Prices in some cases have been lower than for the last two weeks ; many were out of condition. Cockerel* in good order brought us high as 3s 2d each. Pigs brought good prices; not a largo supply. Household furniture and requisites in fair request. No properties ham changed hands since Christians; there has been but little enquiry. The auction sales have been well attended, and large quantities have been put through. Potatoes have met with somewhat better demand, but the supply ha;i been in excess of requirements. Shepherd's 30s to 40m per ton ; good kidneys, £2 10s to £3 ; Holarts, £'i 10s to £3, all Hacks extra. Onions have come to hind in Rood quantities, anil fair qualities sold at Jd to lid. In the poultry department the supply has been larger and demand unsatisfied. In dairy produce all kinds In full supply : cheese plentiful and dull of sale at from 3d to 4d ; fresh butter is aUo very plentiful at lower values—fair quality, ftd to OJd, medium 4d, inferior 2d to 3jd. Eggs have been in good supply at higher values, the market having been cleared of many bad lots; prices have ranged from SJd to IOJd. Uoney of all kinds very difficult to quit at from ljd to 2jd.
