COMMERCIAL.
♦ — New Zealand Herald Office, # Tuesday evening. Thk Customs duties to-day amounted to £1186 Is 6d. Mr. Thornes, land agent, 81, Queen-street, /eporta a quiet month for sales, but an increased inquiry for land, improved and unimproved. Suburban residences with a few acres of land meet with a ready lotting. When holders of property can modify their inflated views of the value of estates bought when everything was at its highest, business will result, as there is a lot of inquiry, but until that takes place few sales will eventuate. ■ ■'• __■
