' [by telegraph.— COKRKSVONdent.] Thames, Thursday. A'-maner named A. H. Turned met with a slight accident to-day. He was working in a drive in a private claim on Una Hill, when a rock came away from one side of the drive and jammed hirn against the other side. Purnell was soon released by his mates and taken home, where Dr. Callan examined him, and found that beyond a severe bruising about the loins and hip 3, no other injury was incurred. The borough elections to-day passed off very quietly, and resulted as follows : — North Ward: J as. McGowan, 75 ; Thos. Brown, 52. Middle Ward : W. H. Potts, 137; W. Dceblo, 75. South Ward: T. Wood, 125 ;J. B. Mason, 12. The first in each instance are the successful candidates.
