[BY TELEGRAPH. —PHESS ASSOCIATION.] Woodvillk, Thursday. Captain Bryant, engineer for tho Maharahara Copper mine, was found dead on the back staircase of the Masonic Hotel this morning. He arrived by train from Napier last night. At tho inquest a verdict of death from natural causos was rsturned. Deceased had only recently come from Sydney, and was a high authority on mining in the Australian colonies. Gisborns, Thursday. An old gentleman named Robert Preston, who with his family recently airiveu in this district from Otago, died suddenly yesterday.
