THE PORT OF THAMES.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] THAMES, Tuesday. A SPiiCUL meeting of the Harbour Board was held this afternoon, for the purpose of considering a telegram received from Mr. W, Fraser, M.H.R., asking what he should do in view of the expressed intention of the Government to leave the Kauri Timber Company and Bagnall's sawmills out- of the Board' 6 jurisdiction. After some discussion is was resolved to telegraph to Mr. Fraser as follows :—" Chairman is in Auck , land ; members present object to alteration, and consider an injustice is being done to bondholders if original boundaries are altered ; Board will be compelled to repudiate obligations unless compensated by the Government for the loss sustained by tua curtailment of boundaries, the responsible lity mnst therefore rest with the Govern' ment."
