[BY telegraph.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Thursday Tins following applications were received, at a meeting of the Borough Council, for the office of Town Clerk:— Carpenter, Aickin, Sinclair, McKenzie, Barton, Woodward, Mackay, Lee, Tizaid, McCausland, Wilkinson, VVhitcombe, Ranks, Quinlan, Kay, Smith, Hamerton, Grigg, Ahier, Baker, Schoen, Galbraith, Gosse'tt, Nation, McLeod, Murray, Laseron, Gayne, Isaacs, Bureau, Carbley, Woolfiold, Griffiths, Holt, fytynk, and Rylance. After gradually reducing the number, only Messrs. Carpenter and Ahier were lefb in., Mr. Carpenter was thon appointed Town Clerk.
