DEATHS AT THE THAMES.

[Bt TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENTS. ] Thames, Thursday. Mr. Patrick Nolan, who was seriously injured on the 12th April last by a fall of mullock while working in the Saxon mine, whore ho occupied the position of underground boss, died in the Hospital at five o'clock this morning, at the age of 55 years. Since the accident he has been partially paralysed, hi 3 spine having been fractured, so that no hope was ever entertained of his recovery. The deceased was formerly a member of the Auckland Provincial Council, and had occupied many positions of trust. Ho was highly esteemed and respected, and great sympathy is expressed for his wife and family in their bereavement. The funeral takes place on Saturday afternoon. Sergeant James Murphy died about 11 o'clock last night, after a long and painful illness. He had been in the police force for about 28 years, having served as sergeant for [over 21 years, fifteen of which were epent at the Thames. Deceased was a very popular officer, and highly esteemed throughout/ the community. He was 54 years of age, and leaves a wife and large family to mourn his loss. The funeral takes place to-morrow afternoon. Inspector Broham, of Auckland, has notified his intention of being present.
