Mr. James Parke, the sucessor to Mr. A. Montgomery at Thames School of Mines, arrived at Thames on Thursday last, but left again for Wellington on Saturday for the purpose of completing a geological survey map of the Collingwood golufiold, on which he has been engaged for some time past. Mr. Montgomery's term of office expires on the 15th instant, and Mr. Parke will take charge about the 24th instant.
