DUNK DIN OATS DIJNKOIN, May a).— market continues (inn ami gradually hardening. Bright thin skinned sorts' hare been in excellent demand for milling. Medium anil good field are al-o in good request, for export, ami very few would have boon now loft in store if suitable freights could have been secured. Shippers are purchasing freely, being now satisfied that the quantity to hand anil yet to come forward will be a long wav short of last season's yield, and not at all likely to be sufficient for the requirements of the rest of the season. Prime nulling, '.is '.id to is lOd ; best short feed, is TJd to 2s SJii ; medium to good, 2s 7d to 'is Vid ; inferior, 2s &d to 2s old (ex store).

JOHNSONVILLB. Messrs. V. R. Jackson and Go.'s (Johnsonville) stock report (by telegraph) on Wednesday :—Cattle were vnrded in "full numbers, ranging from inferior to good quality. Although the demand was brisk, beef sold relatively lower thin last week. The vealers wero a very uneven lot. Suitable calves made good value. Sheep were in short supply at late rates. Pigs were well represented, baconers an i good porkers making ready sale. Ox beet made 13s to ISs Od per 10'Hbs; cattle, bullocks, from £4 to £5 las; the different averaged being Hi 10s Id, £5 4s Sd, and £5 10s lOd ; vealers, from Ss to '.Us. Sheep, wethers, lis lid; ewes, Ss4d; ewes and wethers, 'As lid ; nigs, small baeoners, 2Ss to 55s : porkers, I'Os Oil to lifts ; smaller sorts, 14s to ISs lid ; stores, 4s 3d to 108.

WAIRARAPA. Messrs. bowks and linos' Report.—At their last sale of stock the entries comprised 6000 sheep, 70 head of cattle, with the usual lines in horses and pigs. In sheep they were all of good quality, and sold relatively well, especially all in good forward condition, fat wethers making 10s ; fat owes, Bs, or lJdandUd per lb respectively; store aethers, Ss and Ss (iii; store ewes, 0s to 6s Od. In breeding ewes the highest price obtained was for a line of good voting ewes in lamb, which made 7s Od ; breeding ewes, mixed ages, lis Gd ; culls, :>s ; lambs, 5s o<i ; medium, Is; all selling. In cattle the bulk of the entries were stores only, two pens of beef coming forward. Fat bullocks, small, £i 10s ; fat heifers, (iOs, or about 12s Od and lis per 1001bs respectively; forward-conditioned steers, 00s to 70s ; medium steers, 60s ; yearlings, 25s ; calves, 12s. In dairy stock those springing to calve and young reached £5 ; but all old cows, with no show of calving, were difficult to quit at about 40s. Morses were dull of sale, only a few cheap backs changing hands at prices from £2 for old sorts to .Co and £6 for decent hacks. In pigs all classes were represented., and all classes sold well. Baconers at 35s to fOs ; stores, 2i>s to 25s ; porkers, 15s to 23s ; weaners. 5s to os. We held a sale of freehold, plant, machinery, and stock-in-trade of Williams and Barker's freehold. The land, with buildings and plant, £908; cottage and land £256 ; stock-in-trade and timber, about £250; all lines being well competed for. In grain our sales have been marked with briskness, plenty of business being done. In oats the following rates were obtained :—Best milling, 2s Sd ; sparrow bills, 2s Cxi ; all feed sorts, 2s Sd to 2s 6d. Wheat h.us advanced a trifle since last sales, tho best making is Od to 3s lOd ; fowls' wheat, 2s Sd to is Oil ; barley, 3s 0d ; linseed. 2d ; chaff, oaten sheaf, 70s ; ordinary', 40s ; bran, 70s ; rabbitskins, best furred, lOd to Is ; light, Od to Sd ; sheepskins, 2d. Grass seeds : Cocksfoot, best dressed, moved off freely at 2Jd to 3d ; rye, best samples, 4s Od ; poor, 3s 6d. Poultry have improved a little in value recently. Best hens sold at 2s to 2s M; table, is; small. Is (id. .sales in furniture are rather dull, large quantities of now stuff, of not the best quality, being forced into the rooms, causing prices to be low. Land sales have been very rare.
