GOLD IN THE KING COUNTRY.

The other day we called attention to the statement; that Wahanui's brother, Kahu, had found coarse water-worn gold in the creeks in the ranges behind Kuiti, trending towards the West Coast, a year ago. I* appears that in other parts of the Upper Waikato gold has been found. About a year ago Mr. E. B. Walker, in company with some natives, discovered alluvial gold at Titiraupengi, and showed the natives how to prospect for it and wash the stuff. One of the natives remarked to him that in the Tuhua country it was not necessary to look at, the stuff with a magnifyingslass, as there the gold could be seen easily with tbe naked eye.
