The weekly meeting of tho Tabernacle Mutual Improvement Society was held at the Tabernacle last Tuesday evening, when an interesting paper was read on "The Advantages, if any, and tho Disadvantages of the Property Tax," which will be discussed next Tuesday in a debate to be opened by Mr. E. Bell. We understand 'that a lecture on " The Life and Labours of John Bright" is in course of preparation, and will be delivered in a few days by Mr. C. P. Newcombe. Prize Butter, Pokekoete Show.—The first prize for fresh butter in all four classes was awarded to farmers who send their butter direct to the London Dairy Company, where it can be obtained.
