THE LATE JOHN BRIGHT.
CONSERVATIVE EULOGIUM.
SPEECH OF LORD SALISBURY.
London, March 28. In the House of Lords to-day, the Marquis of Salisbury pronounced a eulogium on the late John Bright. He described him as the greatest master of English oratory who had been heard for several generations. His eloquence was robust and powerful, burning with noble thoughts. He alluded to Mr. Bright's rectitude of character, saying that his actions were never guided by personal feeling, but were inspired by the purest patriotism from beginning to end of his career.
The remains of the late John Bright will be privately buried at Rochdale, Lancashire, on Saturday. The Queen has sent letters of condolence to the relatives of Mr. Bright.
