Alboknia. — Jobo and party, tributors, completed a crushing of 14 loads of general dirt and 501b picked stouo at tlio Mo»na-t«i;u-i battery to-duy for tha excellent return of Gfloz 'klwfe molted gold. Warden's Court.—A short sitting was held this morning, Warden iSorthcroft prosiding, when throe applications for residence sites in tho Ohinomuri district wore adjourned to the 18th April next, for tho Mining Inspector to report thereon. May Quern. —The contractors have made a fair start to clean out tho old City of York shaft, being down about nine feet at tho present time. To-day they wero ongaged in putting in timber. Big Pi;Mr.—The pump was stopped and steam blown oil" at eight o'clock this morning, in order to enable Messrs. Price Bros, to connect the now boiler with the water and steam pipes. Advantage is also being taken of the stoppage to effect a few necessary repairs to the engine. It is not expected any inconvenience will be caused in tho adjoining mines through the stoppage, as the pump will be in full swing again this evening. Cami'.kia.—Another leader, six inches thick, was intersected in the crosscut in the Darwin section at No. 4 level to-day. The quartz broken therefrom was of kindly appearance, and carries nice mineral, bub no gold was seen. Its course is similar bo the leader intersected last week, so that it will be carried along with the crosscut a few feet. This crosscut is now in a distance of about 30 feet, and is passing through a good channel of country. The winze below No. 3 level is down about 4.) feet, and colours of gold still are seen in the leaders being sunk upon. A fair grade of quartz is still coming to hand from the stopes on the hatigingwall leader below No. 2 level.

Cambria.—The mino manager wired yesterday : " Cut loader six inches thick, carrying good mineral crosscut No. 4 level." lain"k Hand.—The first meeting of directors, which was hold last Monday, and which appointed Mr. Henry Grean chairmail of the Board, re-assembles to-day. The meeting is expected to bo a full one, and it is most likely that a, mine manager will be appointed and stops taken to have an early crushing. May Queen. —The number of company's shares allotted is 39,550, with 5000 shares bespoke, so that in a few days tho list will be definitely closed. The contractors havo now made a good start with the first 100 ft of tho shaft, which should be finished in about three weeks' time.
