VAILE &■ DOUGLAS, Shortland-stroet. f - - ' This Company is formed to provide the citizens of f Auckland with a suitable and unobjectionable place or places of burial for their dead. Already an agreement, dated the thirteenth day of March instant, lias been onteivd into by John Aitken 3 Connell, of Auckland, Land Agent, on behalf of tho Company, and Mr. Frederick Earl, of Auckland, Solicitor, whereby the Company has acquired tho right to purchase about thirty-seven acres . of land, being part of original Allotments 7 and 8, Section 9, Suburbs of Auckland (which agreement may bo Inspected at the office of John Aitken Connell, Land Agent, No. 7, Government Insurance Buildings, Queen-street, Auckland)—this right will be exercised over tho whole or part of the said land at tho discretion of the Directors. The land is situated on the western side of Cox's Creek, beyond I Ponsonby, having an oxtensivo frontage to the I present formed road. It is ominoutly suited for cemetery purposes being all clay land, laid down in tine grass, with drainage into tidal water, with a cheerful and beautiful outlook. It is easily accoaaiolo .<„> a good metalled road and, whilst within easy distance of the city, is yet quiet and retired in situation, with an exceedingly sparse population in the neighbourhood. The price at which tho property is proposed to bo acquired is so moderate—being at the rate of £ISO per acre—that a vory large profit may bo confidently looked for from the Company's operations. A special feature of tho scheme is that, subject to such rules and regulations as the Directors may ' mpo3o, touching the time, place, manner, or other incidents of selection, each member, being an original allottee of his shares, shall be ontitled to select an allotment or allotments being part of any piece of land the property of the Company sot aside and dedicated as a cemetery, within which exclusive right of burial to the selector, his family, nominees, executors, administrators, and assigns, shall be granted as follows, that is to say : For every twenty shares held by him, an allotment 10 feet by 10 feet, being of the class known as extra first-class sites. For ten shares hold by him, or less than twenty, an allotment S feet by 10 foot, being of tho class known as first-class sites. For three shares hold by him, or less than ten, an allotment S feot by 4 feet, being of the class known as second-class sites. (No shareholder shall be entitled to select sites of r different classes.) The right to make selections of allotments shall be deemed to accrue to the members in the samo order as that in which their applications for shares shall have been made. Tho right of selection of sites will be accorded in the order in which applications for shares are received. As each acre is calculated to yield, after liberal provision for roads, 55 extra first-class sites, 16 feot x 10 £ fe«t, say at £10 each, equal to .. 600 i SO tirst-cla.s3 sites, 8 feet x 10 feet, say at £5 each, equal to .. .. 400 160 second-class sites, 4 feet x 8 feet, i say at £1 10s each, equal to .. 240 ; Or a loud of, per acre .. .. £1,100 1 it is evident that the amount derived from sales of sites to persons other than shareholders will be more than sufficient to repay the whole of the capital of the Company invested in the purchase of the land, leaving the shareholders in possession of burial-places free of cost. It is proposed to lay out the cemetery in the best and most suitable manner, and to plant it with ornamental trees and shrubs, so that it is anticipated it will soon be a favourite resort for the citizens. The Company will be registered so soon as one third of the capital is subscribed, and, unless this amount is subscribed on or before a date to be tixed by the Directors, tho deposit of applicants will be returned in full. Thereafter the Company will, at the first session of Parliament, promote a Bill for enabling it fully to carry out the objects of its formation. 4 A copy of tho Memorandum anil Articles of Association of tho Company may bo inspected at the office of the Brokers, and intending applicants are invited to peruse the same before malting application for shares. No applicant for more than twenty shares will have more than twenty shares allotted to him until the applications of applicants for twenty shares or under shall first have boon satisfied in full.
