CHRISTCHURCH DIOCESAN SYNOD.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] ChristGhurch, Wednesday. The Diocesan Synod met to-day to consider what steps should be taken in consequence of the Church property trustees declining to make provision for the payment of property tax on the English loan. A motion was proposed by Mr. John Grigg for the production of legal opinion to the effect that the resolution of the last Synod, " that money paid as property tax by the sinking fund trustees should be refunded was ultra vires." After considerable debate the motion was lost, and the Synod adjourned to to-morrow.
