SICKNESS AND MISERY AT GREYMOUTH.
— [BY TELEGRAPH,PRESS ASSOCIATION'.J Greymoutii, Wednesday. Latterly there has been a great deal of sickness among children, mostly from feverish colds, sore throats, &c. A number of deaths have occurred, some attributed to diphtheria. The attendance at the Stato school has dwindled muoh, parents keeping children at homo afraid of infection. The committee to-day closed the school indefinitely. There i* much misery among labouring men, owing to dearth of employment generally. A similar state of things prevails at Brunnerton.
