Oar Wairarapa correspondent writes:— The additional section of railway line from Mangamahoe to Eketahuna is nearing completion ; in fact, the engine is running to tali una daily, and the first lot of wool from the Tiraumea Station, of 115 bales, was brought through by permission of the contractor, Mr. Danaher, last Monday, but the line has not yet been passed by the Government for passenger traffic, nor are the station buildings quite completed. With the completion of this section, the gap between the Forty-mile Bush and the Napier-WoodviHe Railway will be reduced to thirty miles, which is intersected by Cobb's coaches at present. It is expected that Eketahuna will be the terminus for some years. The extension of the line will be a great boon to the settlers in the Eketahuna, Parkville, Mangoaone, and Alfredton districts, which have made immense strides during the past three years.
