SOME OPINIONS OF PROMINENT MEN. The Hon. William James Mudie Larnach, M.H.R., late Minister of Mines, in his evidence before the Supreme Court at Wellington, on the 21st January, 1889, deposed on oath as follows :—'' I know the New Zealand Herald. It is a leading paper in the Colony. It has a very large circulation. I have seen it in America, in different parts of the States, in London, in Scotland, and in Ireland. I have seen it also in Victoria and in the other Colonies of Australia.
