ECCLESIASTICAL.

The Rev. E. J. Reed, chaplain of H.M.s. Opal, will preach to-morrow evening in St. Matthew's Church, when Attwood's Lenten anthem, "Turn Thy Face From My Sins," will be sung. The service will commence at 7 p.m., the other services being celebration of holy communion at 10, morning prayer at 11, and children's service at 3 p.m. There will be a special meeting to-morrow night in the Alexandra-street Primitive Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. A. J. Smith. In the converts'meeting Mr. G. T. Sullivan, the converted athlete, will take part, with others. Mr. Smith will preach on " Trophies of Grace." The Pv.ev. E. H. Gulliver will preach at St. Paul's to-morrow, both in the morning and evening. At the Epiphany Church, to-morrow evening, the Rev. Dr. O'Callaghan will deliver a sermon on " The Supernatural," the first of a series to be given on Sunday evenings during Lent, in defence of the Christian faith. To-morrow morning and evening, the Rev. C. E. Ward will preach, for the last time, iu the Franklin Road Church, before leaving for Wellington. In the afternoon, Mr. Ward will preach in the Richmond Road Church. The Rev. W. H. Bayues will occupy the pulpit at All Saints' to-morrow evening. The anniversary of the Grafton Road Wesleyan Sunday-school is to be celebrated by special services to-morrow, and in the evening the Rev. R. Bavin will preach his farewell sermon in this church, prior to his departure for Australia. Bishop Cowie will preach at St. Mary's Cathedral Church to-morrow forenoon, and in tho evening at St. Sepulchre's. The morning service at the Pitt-street Wesleyan Church will be conducted by Miss Ackermann, the' world's missionary of the American National W.C.T.U. In the evening the Rev. H. Dewsbury will preach. At St. John's Wesleyan Church, the Rev. H. Dewsbury will preach in the morning, and the Rev. E. Best in the evening. Pastor Spurgeon will discourse at the Auckland Tabernacle in the morning, whilst in the evening Miss Ackermann will deliver an address. . At the Ponsonby Baptist Church, Pastor Gilmorc will preach on " Godly Fear " in the morning, and in the evening on "A Grand Old English Word in the Revised Version." " Science and Revelation not at Variance " is to be the subject of the address to young men by the Rev. J. S. Hill at the Y.M.C.A. Rooms. The Rev. J. Chew will, as usual, conduct the services at the Beresford-street Congregational Church, and the Rev. H. J. Lewis at the Newton Congregational Church. The evangelistic choir, so well known in connection with the work of the Young Men's Christian Association, intend giving a service of song next Thursday evening in the Lecture Hall, Young Men's Christian Association, at half-past seven.
