DEATH FROM SWALLOWING A BONE.

[BY TKLEORAPII. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Monday. A younq man named Henry Grubb died at the hospital this afternoon from stoppage of the bowels. A few days ago he proceeded with his wife and family to lower Tararu, to camp out with others for a holiday by the seaside, and was about to erect a tent when he was seized with violent pains in the stomach. He was taken to the hospital, where his condition became bo precarious that on Sunday Dr. Williams fonnd it necessary to perform an operation to remove the obstruction, which is believed, to be a piece of bone swallowed while partaking of a meal. Owing to it having lodged in the upper portion of the stomach, however, it could not be removed, and he died this afternoon. Hβ leaves a wife and three children. A post mortem will be held to-morrow.
