A church parade of the City Guards and Victoria Rifles, accompanied by the Garrison Band, was arranged to have been held yesterday at St. Matthew's Church, but the weather was so wet that all hopes of a fair muster had to be abandoned. Capfc. Kohn, who called the parade, was in attendance, accompanied by six members of the City Guards, two of the Victoria Rifles, and the band was represented by Bandmaster, Morris and two, drummers without instruments. Of course, under the circumstances, it would be hopeless to expect a muster, and there not being sufficient to form a company, the individual members, protected by their great coata, made no attempt at forming a march. * •>.. The committee.of the Onehunga Horticultural Society met on Saturday night, and transacted a deal of business in connection with the . forthcoming show, which takes place at the end of March.
