A CHARGE OF ABDUCTION. London, February 8. A sensation has been caused at Nice by the elopement of Dr. Sellon, of London, with Miss Wilcox, an American heiress. The runaways were captured, and Sellon will be prosecuted for abduction. THE SUGAR BOUNTIES CONVENTION. London, February 10. Baron De Worms states that the Government will legislate in the direction of enforcing penalties under the Sugar Bounties Convention. BISMARCK AND THE PRESS. Berlin, February 9. A prosecution of the Kreuz Zeitung, instituted by Prince Bismarck, for comments on the Geffcken incident, has been abandoned. CANADA AND THE STATES. Ottawa, February 9. > It is stated that Sir J. M action aid will shortly resign the Premiership, also that Sir Charles Tupper will lead the Conservative members. The question of annexation to the States will shortly be referred to the electors. WRECK OF THE WALTER RALEIGH. < London, February 0. Two thousand bales of wool have been recovered from the wreck of the ship Walter Raleigh.' It is expected that further salvage will be made. SUGAR BOUNTIES BILL. London, February 9. Baron de Worms states that the Sugar Bounties Bill will receive -prompt despatch next session. THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN LOAN 5 . London, February 9. The brokers have offered to subscribe the balance of the South Australian loan at par, payment being deferredioT six months. RIOTS IN ROME. Rome, February 9. Serious rioting has taken place in the city, and many casualties have occurred. Upwards of 70 arrests were made.

It is stated that M. de Lesseps' attempt to float the new Panama Cana] Company has failed. Paris, February 10.
