PORT OF ONEHUNGA.

DEPARTURES.

Herald, s.s., Jones, for Grcymouth. Passenger, Miss Mullins. — Union S.S. Co., agents.

The s.s. Herald, Captain Jones, for Greymouth, took her departure yesterday. The secretary of the Gas Company informs us that the delay in the departure of the screw collier Herald, referred to in our issue of yesterday, was due to tardy advices of both loading and departure, the notice of the departure of the steamer from Greymouth having been received only three hours before she came alongside of the Onehunga Wharf, and that sutneient time was not given to the Railway Department for it to be practicable to place all the trucks alongside as required, leaving cut of consideration altogether the notice required by the regulations of the Detvaruiient.
