OTAGO CENTRAL RAILWAY.
[by telegraph.— own correspondent.] Wellington, Tuesday. I understand that nothing is likely to be done immediately towards the construction of this line. I have reason to believe, however, that the Ministers who went over the route are of opinion that it can only bo made with the aid of pastoral and mineral rents, and such additional help from land contiguous to the line as may be available ; but the revenue from pastoral and mineral lights amounts to some £50,000 a-year. The whole subject will come before Parliament next session.
