It is proposed to hold a Public Conversazione on the Evening of TUESDAY, the 15th instant, to ■welcome the Bishop on his return from England. Musical Selections will be given during the evening, and light refreshments provided. Admission, Two Shillings. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Ordinary General Meeting of the New Zealand Insurance Company will be held at the Registered Office of the Company, Queen-street, Auckland, on WEDNESDAY, the 9th day of JANUARY, 1889, at two o'clock p.m., for the purpose of receiving the Directors' Report and Balance-sheet for the 12 months ended 30th November, 1368, the election of two Directors in room of Messrs. Owen and Buddie, who are retiring, but are eligible for re-election, and two Directors in the room of Messrs. Williamson and Browning, deceased; also, the election of two Auditors. Proxies must be lodged at the Registered Office of the Company 24 hours at least before date of meeting. And notice is hereby also given that immediately after such Ordinary Meeting, an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company will be held at the said office, when the subjoined resolution will be proposed :— Resolution. 1. That the Articles of Association be altered in manner following :— (a) In article 65 the words " five hundred shall be substituted for the words "one thousand." (B) In subsection 2 of article 66, the words " five hundred " shall be substituted for the words " one thousand." Should the Bald resolution be passed by the required majority, it will be submitted for confirmation as a special resolution to a second Extraordinary General Meeting, which, in the absence of fnrther notice, will be held at the Company's said office on THURSDAY, the 24th day of JANUARY, 1889, at two o'clock p.m. The TRANBFER BOOKS of the Company will be Closed from 27th tost, to 9th January, 18S9, both days inclusive.
