CRICKET.
The wet weather on Saturday last added another postponement to the already long list since the opening of the season. The committee of the Association have adjourned all matches until next Saturday, and have also decided to allow no break on any Saturday (unless caused by wet weather) until the programme of matches is finished. The match—United v. Parnell—is to be concluded on Saturday, and Gordon v. Auckland, fixed by the Association for last Saturday week, but not yet commenced, will also be played, and if not brought to a conclusion then, will be finished during the evening of the following week. This will complete the first round for the senior cup. [BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Sunday. The senior cup cricket matches, which were suspended over the holidays, were resumed on the Basin Reserve yesterday, the Star and Ponekea being the contesting clubs The former led oil' with 87 in their first innings, the latter totalling 105. In their second innings the Stars have lost x, wo wickets for 15. The game will be. resumed on Saturday next. • The Uhristchureh Wanderers play here on Wednesday and Thursday.
