«■ ! The committee of St. George's Rowing j Club has decided to take advantage of the | opportunity afforded by the completion of their new and spacious boathouse in Judge's Bay to hold a pleasant reunion of members and friends in their new headquarters. A social and musical programme has been prepared, and a number of friends have been invited to be present at the opening of the shed to-night. Quite a large amount of interest has been excited by the near approach of the Auckland Rowing Association's regatta, which is fixed for the loth proximo. All of the various clubs have been actively practising for some weeks, and yesterday the City R.C. chose crews to represent it in the whaleboat races. The gig crews will be picked next week should the new stringtest from Sydney come to hand by the s.s. Manapouri on Tuesday next. The following are the whaleboat selections :— Maiden Whaleboat: W. Brophy (stroke), W. Walsh, C. Otto, H. Greenshields, W. Williamson, E. H. Montgomery (steer-oar). Junior Whaleboat: C. W. Pennalligen (stroke), I). Slade, A. Brown, G. Rowles, W. J. Evers, J. M. Orr (steer-oar.) Senior Whaleboat : H. Slade (stroke), 1). Slade, A. Brown, G. Rowles, C. W. Pennalligen.
