DEATH OF A NEW ZEALAND ARTIST.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION'. Nklso.v, Thursday. Mr. John Gully, the well-known artist, died to-day after a lengthened illness, aged 69. He settled in Taranaki on first coming to the colony, and after some activo service during the Maori war came to Nel.-son in 1860. In 1863 ho was appointed draughtsman and surveyor under the Hon. J. C. Richmond, Nelson ; but tho last ten years of his life have been devoted wholly to art.
