THE MARRIED WOMEN'S PROPERTY ACT.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Wednesday. A point under the Married Women's Property Act was decided by Justice Williams, to-day, in an appeal from the decision of the Resident Magistrate, at Invercargill. The action in the Court below was brought by the appellant (Matheson) to recover from the respondent (Aitkeu) a sum alleged to bo due by his wife prior to marriage, 011 the ground that he had become entitled, through his wife, to a sum equal to the amount of the claim. The magistrate held that the respondent had not become possessed of property left to his wife by will, and this decision the Judge upheld.
