An accident of a severe character occurred near Taheke on September 14. Mr. E. Tobin, brother of the native school-teacher, Otaira, while on his way to Taheke, was jolted out of the vehicle, and fell on his head, the wheel passing over his hand and severely injuring it. The extent of the injuries are not yet known, as his* hand is so much swollen.—[Hokianga correspondent.
