Attention is drawn to a change in the winter course of lectures in connection with the Young Men's Christian Association. Next Friday, instead of a lecture by the Rev. J. S. Hill, Mr. Josiah Martin will deliver a lecture, with limelight views. The Rev. W. Tebhs expects to be able soon to give his lecture on " An Evening with the Poets," with musical selections by well-known amateurs. Subscribers to the Auckland Telephone Exchange are notified by the Telegraph Department that if their subscriptions to the Exchange for the current quarter remain unpaid after this day, connections will bo cut off forthwith. Yesterday Messrs. A. Woollams and Co., tailors, obtained possession of their new premises, in Queen-street, recently occupied by Mr. Wayte. stationer, and formerly known as the old Auckland Hotel. A staff of skilled workmen are already busily employed making the necessary alterations which are to be , executed from designs procured from London for the purpose, and will bo entirely different from anything hitherto attempted in Auckland. It is gratifying in these times of depression to see so much energy and enterprise. Only four years have elapsed since they commenced business at Sydenham House, Grey-street, and already they have risen to the position of premier tailors. It is generally acknowledged that their goods are selected with exceptional taste, and suitable to the requirements of all, whilst their " ready money system," to which they have firmly adhered throughout, has enabled them to supply their customers with firstclass goods at reasonable prices.
