New Zealand Herald Office. Friday evening. Mr. J. Aitkex Connell reports the sale of three allotments of land, fronting Wait-emata Harbour, and having a total frontage of 99 feet to London-street, by a depth of about 155 feet, with seven-roomed dwellinghouse thereon, the property of Mr. J. E. Calvert, for the sum of £tk>3. Messrs. Arthur ano Huddle's Weekly Report.—There has been a good demand for all kinds of produce during the week, and business done has been of si fairly satisfactory nature. Onions are enquired for, the* supply being far short of renuiremenus. Potatoes move off freely, nearly all to hand being cleared out ; prices a little easier. Prime corned butter is much wanted; none to hand. Fresh has been in fair supply, and meets with ready sale. Paeon and hams remain at about last week's quotations. Values for every description of grain are tirm, with a good demand. There is no change to report in the value of cheese; prime quality is easily disposed oS at satisfactory prices. Honey is slow of sale. Auction sales for "the week have been seven in number. On Monday a clearing sale of drapery, etc.. v.as held at the mart ; attendance moderate, with slow bidding. Tuesday, a sale of corrugated iron ; buyers numerous, very" brisk competition and high prices realised. Wednesday's turniture sale at the mart was not largely attended, but a fair amount of business was "done. On Thursday three sales were held : Town and country land by order of the Registrar of the Supreme Court—no sales effected, the mortgagee being the highest bidder for each lot ; following this, Hobart apples and Fiji bananas were o Id. The attendance of buyers was very large, and, considering the poor quality of the fruit, good prices were realised. A sale of household furniture in Kvbcr Pass Head was largely attended, and good prices were realised for all lots. Friday's market sale was well attended throughout. Produce was in good supply. Poultry was entered in fair numbers, for which high prices ruled. Pigs : Few in number, but sold well. A few cases of local apples from Mr. P. Heecroft, Port Albert, excited keen competition, and realised Md per lb.
