CONCERT IN DRIVING CREEK SCHOOL, COROMANDEL.

A capital concert, in aid of the funds of the above school, took place oil Tuesday evening last, but the attendance was somewhat smaller than usual. Miss Home opened the ,>roceedings bv playing an overture in her best style. A duet followed by Misses Nolan, " Music .Sweet." These young ladies also sang several other solos, and contributed very greatly to the evening's enjoyment, viz., " Yes, Sir, " The Blue Alsatian Mountains," and "The Cradle is Not Empty." A song, " Let Your Tears Kiss the Mowers on My Grave," by Miss Gibbs, assisted by the company in chorus, was very good. Mr. Keesing, assisted by Miss Wooilams on the piano, played some very beautiful pieces on the violin, and fairly surpassed himself. Mr. Kay sang The Skippers' Flag," and later in the evening, "I'll Conquer or Die.", Mr. F - v has a very strong voice, and will make a •■id singer, but he does not enunciate his words very clearly. People nowadays like to hear what is sun". Mr. Simpson sang Anchored," and " The Long Shore Man," and (later) sang "The Frenchman," and had to respond to a determined encore, when he sang Only One." He has a splendid voice;, and is evidently all at home on the stage. A duet by Misses McCormick and Gibbs, " Weary with Watching," was encored, and was beautifully sung. Miss McCormick also sane "I Heard a Spirit Sing," and Miss Gibus, " I'm Dreaming of Home and Mother." They sang exceedingly well, a,rid are always highly appreciated. Misses Nolan and Martin sang a duet. " Cottage by the Brook," and Mr. Smith, "Swanee River." He was evidently a little nervous, buc had to respond to an encore. Mr. Watling recited " Trotters," in his usual inimitable style. Mr. Keesing recited "Some One Else,' and completely brought down the house, and, in response to an encore, he gave "The Girl in Hammock." The National Anthem brought a very pleasant evening to a close.[Own Correspondent.] .
