BANKRUPTCY.
MEETING OF CREDITORS. A. Hanson.—A special meeting of the creditors of A. Hanson, bootmaker, of Whangarei, vas held yesterday. Present, creditors: Me-isrs. Jones (Northern Boob Company), Hudson (Ireland Brothers), Foster, Bull (Bull and Co.), Tewsley (Sargood, Ewen and Co.), Main, and Walton. The Official Assiguee explained that the meeting had been called specially to consider the tenders for stock, book debts, and three allotments and shares. Five tenders were rhen opened, and after some discussion it was resolved, on the motion of Mr. Tewsley, seconded by Mr. Foster, " That the cash offer of Messrs. Dadley and Fox of £6'l for lot 1, and Mrs. Carter's offer of £8 for lot :s, be accepted, and that lot 2 be collected by the Official Assignee, with discretionary power as to commission. 0. M. Crk\gh.—A special meeting of creditors was held. Present: Creditors, Messrs S. Kesketh (for Mr. Wilson), Abbott, McCormack. Dunnett, Quintal,Mennle (Mennie and Dey). The Official Assignee stated that the meeting had been called to consider the debtor's discharge. It had been represented that he could readily find lucrative employment if this were granted, ar.d he [the Official Assignee) understood the creditors generally had no wish to stand in the way of his making a living for himseli and family. Mr. Hesketh, who is acting in the interests of the debtor as well as the general body of creditors, said that the claim on Macky's estate was in a fair way of being realised, but beyond that there was not much to expect unless native land investments revived. After a short discussion, it was unanimously resolved, on the motion of Mr. Abbott, seconded by Mr. Duimett, "That having taken into consideration the position of the bankrupt, the meeting desired that his discharge might be facilitated by the Official Assignee." Petition in "Bankruptcy.—Mr. Arthur Dunbebin Bennett, commission agent, yesterday filed a petition to be adjudged a bankrupt. He will be examined to-day before the Official Assignee.
