[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Tuesday. The death is announced to-day of Miss Emily Marian Allom, youngest daughter of Mr. A. J. Allom, J.P., of Parawai. The deceased young lady was attacked with scarlet fever a few days ago, and later on diphtheria supervened, to which she succumbed. The funeral of the late William TwentyI man, who died on Sunday last, took place I this afternoon, and was largely attended. There was on view day, at the office of | Mr. John Frater, a line specimen of trout, i which was caught by Mr. J. B. Steedman |in his fish pond at Waikawau. The fish in | question measured 28 inches in length and I weighed 5A pounds. j At a meeting of the Thames Naval Ari tillery last evening it was decided to accept I a challenge from the Oamaru Naval Artillery ' to fire a friendly match at an early date. i each corps to use its own local r.'mgv.
