i London, September 14. Silver has gone up, and is now quoted at 3s 8d per oz. One thousand bales of New Zealand hemp have been sold at an advance of from £1 to £l 10s per ton. Eleven hundred cases of kauri gum were ottered at auction, three-fourths being sold at an advance of 3s. The market shows signs of recovery. The new English wheat is in bad condition. The recent line weather has had a tendency to weaken the market. The Australian leather market i.-? unchanged. Basils are improving, and a large quantity has been sold at an advance of Is 2d.
[PER N.Z.L. AND M.A. CO., LIMITED./ London-, September 14. Wheat. — Market is depressed. The weather is all that can be desired. New Zealand wheat has declined 6d per 4961bs (landed) since last report. Tallow.Fine mutton tallow, market easier. New Zealand Hemp.—Medium is worth £27 10s per ton.
