AN AMBITIOUS PROJECT.
New York, July 14.—Rev. Dr. Sivertha, of Chicago, originator of the movement for the rebuilding of Jerusalem, sailed for Europe to-day. He will at once begin active work to carry out his ambitious project. The movement for the rebuilding and resettlement of the Holy Land has excited deep interest not only in this country, but throughout England and Scotland. Dr. Sivertha expects that large immigration from England and America will now into the Holy Land early in the autumn. The pioneers are earnest, religious, and practical. Dr. Sivertha has worked out careful plans for the rebuilding of Jerusalem, with its temples, public buildings, gates, and walls, in harmony with the prophetic description of the Bible. The Jews proper will only form about onesixth of the new population, the rest being English and American, and as soon as a sufficient number of people are there to form the nucleus of a new nation, Dr. Sivertha expects that the powers of Europe will unite in declaring Palestine independent.
