Blenheim, Friday. News from the Mahakipawa to-day is rather exciting. The Havelock correspondent of the Times says that gold has been discovered at Rocky Creek, Fern Flat, Kaituna ; also at Wheadon's Valley, Mahakipawa. The Picton correspondent of the same journal, wiring at eight o'clock to-night, says: "The mail boat has just arrived, bringing news from Mahakipawa. J. Fuller, from the goldfields to-day, reports that a very rich reef has been found by Annear and Hill at the top of the right hand branch. Lumps of gold are visible. A great rush and excitement has been caused, and a large number of claims have been pegged out.
