MEETINGS OF CREDITORS. W. Stephenson.—A meeting of the creditors of W. Stephenson, bankrupt, .was held yesterday at the office of the Official Assignee. Mr. S. Hesketh appeared on behalf of Paul and Schenk, the petitioning creditors. The debtor presented a statement of his accounts, as requested at last meeting. Mr. Hesketh said he would require a little time to investigate the statement before examining the debtor. After some discussion the meeting was adjourned, the Official Assignee to call another meeting after «■ ramming the debtor, Mr. Blaikie, or any others as deemed necessary. W. G. Allen.The creditors of W. G. Allen held a special meeting to consider tenders for the estate. On the motion of Mr. Tewnley, seconded by Mr. Hooton, the tender of Mr. G. Fowlds for the stock and fixtures was accepted, the Official Assignee to collect the book debts. Mr. Tewsley moved. " That the discharge of W. G. Allen be facilitated by the Assignee, and that he be allowed the sum of £10 for maintenance." 'ihis motion was seconded by Mr. A. Clark, and agreed to. Lapsed.—A meeting in the estate of C. Veysey again lapsed for want of a quorum. FILING. Richard Preece, miner, of the Thames, filed a petition yesterday morning to be adjudged a bankrupt.
