[press association.] . Washington, September 5. The reported rejection of the treaty between the United States and China with,regard to the exclusion of Chinese has not yet bee n confirmed. Congress has unanimously adopted the Bill providing for the absolute exclusion of the Chinese from the United States. London, September 5. # Sir Julius Vogel considers that it is useless for Australia to depend upon the Home authorities for assistance in settling the Chinese question. A letter has appeared in the Time 3 stating that the working classes in Australia are being made the tools of certain unscrupulous agitators, who are interested in the exclusion of Chinese labourers.
