Educational. Auckland college and GRAMMAR SCHOOL (GIRLS). The Board of Governors have made arrangements to admit Girls to the benefits of the College and Grammar School, and will carry on the work of the Girls' High School at the building In Symonds. The Headmaster, Mr. Bourne, will have charge of the whole school, and the Girls will be taught under his direction, but they will occupy a separate portion of the building, and will have the use of a separate entrance and play-ground. The Governors have arranged to retain the services of the Lady Assistants heretofore employed at the Girls' High School, and also, until the end ot the year, those of the late Headmaser, Mr. Sloman. Interruption of the course of study will thus be avoided. Drawing will be taught by Mr. J. G. Trevithick, and in some special subjects the services of Masters of the Auckland College and Grammar School will be made use of for the higher classes. Free tuition and scholarships will be continued under existing rules to all girls now entitled to them. New Pupils must apply to the Headmaster, at the School, Symonda-street, on FRIDAY, the 14th September, at 9.30 a.m. to 11, or at 2.30 to 4 p.m., and they will attend for Entrance Examination on MONDAY, the 17th September, at 10 a.m. Girls who have hitherto attended the Girls' High School are not required to attend the Entrance Examination, In their case a notification to the Headmaster on or before the 14th September will suffice.
