GREAT EXCITEMENT. EXAGGERATED REPORTS. Melbourne, September 2. Great excitement was occasioned in the city and also in Adelaide yesterday on receipt of information that a serious earthquake had been experienced in New Zealand. A rumour got abroad that Wellington had been destroyed, and the excitement was then intense, and was only allayed when the correct particulars reached here. ~
