DRURY BAND OF HOPE.
On Wednesday, the 22nd instant, the Drury Band of Hope held their monthly meeting, when the following programme was carried out, Mr. Dixon (vice-president) in the chair and . Miss Louise Cossey presiding at the organ :—A selection of hymns from Hoyle's Temperance Hymns and Songs; remarks and prayer by the chairman ; recitation, " Billy's jlose," Miss Carrie Cossey; soujr, " I'll Never Marry a Man if he Drinks," Miss Ballard; recitation, Fanny Cossey; reading, Mr. Fielding ; violin duet, Messrs. Flanagan and Hurdegan; song, " A Little Bow of Blue," Mrs. Dixon; dialogue, Messrs. Sayes and Hurdegan; readings (2) and remarks by the Rev. T. Norrie ; recitation, " Do Your Best," Freddy Cossey; instrumental quartette by Messrs. Dixou and sons and Hurdegan; recitation, "The Launch of the Ship," Louisa Hurst; song, "Hen Convention," Bessie Ballard (encored); and the singing of the Doxology brought a very pleasant evening to a close. Several fresh pledges were taken. In consequence of the wet weather the attendance was rather small. We hope our friends will show up in larger numbers at the next meeting.
