London, August 25. Tallow : Mutton, 26s ; beef 24s 3d. Straits tin, is £92 10s; Australian, £92 15s. Copper : Chili bars, £83 15s. Iron : Best Scotch pig, No. 1, f.o.b. 45s 6d. Sugar : German beet, 14s 3d ; Java, 14s J. Wheat, Australian, ex warehouse, 38s; New Zealand long-berried, 38s Flour : Australian, 26s 6d. Money : The market is firm in anticipation of an increase in the bank rate. Consols are 100|. New Zealand fives are 104 i. New Zealand four per cent, inscribed stock, 98i. Hides : Best sides, 3|d to 3§d. Kauri gum is unchanged. With the exception of Russia the harvest all over the Continent has been much damaged by bad weather, and is generally deficient in quantity and defective in quality. In consequence of the adverse reports on the spring crops, the American markets are stiffening. 3200 quarters of New Zealand wheat have been sold for 36s 6d.
