THE TRIPLE ALLIANCE.
INTERVIEW BETWEEN CRISPI AND KALNOKY. UNEASINESS IN FRANCE. WAR RUMOURS IN VIENNA. FRANCE AND MASSOWAH. [press association.] Berlin, August 25. A meeting between Signor Crispi and Count Kalnoky took place yesterday at Eger, a town in Bohemia, and was of a most cordial character. It is believed that the result of Signor Crispi's visit to Prince Bismarck and Count Kalnoky will be the conversion of the Triple Alliance into an offensive and defensive union of the three Powers. Paris, August 25. The uneasiness arising out of the negotiations now proceeding between the Powers composing the Triple Alliance is increasing. Vienna, August 27. The hasty return of Signor Crispi, to this city, coupled with the naval manoeuvres projected by the Italian Govment, has given rise to fears of a possible collision between France and Italy, arising out of their mutual jealousy regarding Tripoli. Paris, August 25. _ M. Goblet replying to Signor Crispi, says France never sought to raise grave issues over the Massowah affair, and that he considers the matter closed.
