Thames, Saturday. The hearing of the two cases against J. B. Steedman, he being the owner of sheep infested with scab, was continued to-day, and occupied until half-past one p.m. Bis Worship dismissed both informations, with costs (£l3 14s) against Inspector Drummond. ' The informations against W. J. Jamieson and James Bennett, of Waikawau, were then witdrawn by Mr. Williamson.
[press association.] Bunedin, Saturday. The death is announced of Mr. William Telford, one of the pioneer settlers of Clutha.
The weather is very stormy, cold, and inclined to snow.
Greymouth, Sunday. Owing to rough weather, the bar has been impassable for a couple of days. The exports of coal for the week were 1374 tons.
