On Saturday afternoon the well-known Island steamer Richmond sailed for her usual trip to Rarotonga, Tonga, Tahiti, etc., after a stay of a week in port. She took a large general cargo of stores and hardware, aud had also on board several passengers amongst whom were the Rev. S. W. Baker, Premier of Tonga, and Mr. C. A. Ldcnborough, of the firm of Donald and Edenborough. The barque Coulnakyle was hauled alongside the outmost western tee of the Queenstreet Wharf early on Saturday morning. She is now ready to start reloading, and looks almost like a new ship. The hulk Senator, which contains the 500 tons of copra taken out of the Coulnakyle when she went into dock, will be towed alongside the barque to-day, and the work of reshipping it into its original bottom begun at once. Early yesterday morning the Northern S.S. Co.'s Clansman arrived from Tauranga, with a dozen passengers and a small cargo of gum, maize, and sundries. The s.s. Bucephalus was yesterday and on Saturday visited by a large number of persons eager to inspect the stranger, and the accommodation necessary for the shipment of tl.e 310 horses which will be taken 011 board to-day for Calcutta. Everything is in readiness for the shipping of the animals, which will be commenced at an early hour this morning. All the horses will be walked oil board to their respective stalls, save a few which will go in the hold, and will need to be lowered in slings. About two o'clock yesterday the s.s. Stafi'a arrived from Opotiki, from which port she sailed at S o'clock on Saturday morning. Besides several passengers the StatTa brought a cargo of '200 sacks maize and sundries. The schooners Fleetwing and Christina arrived yesterday with cargoes of coal from Whangarei, and the Saucy Kate sailed with similar freight from Russell 011 Saturday evening. From Newcastle the brigantine Parncll sailed on the 22nd instant with a full load of coal, which comes in to Mr. J. J. Craig. Messrs. C. F. James and Co., the agents of the brigantine Lady Mabel, concluded arrangements on Saturday for the supply of that vessel's cargo at the same port, notwithstanding the strike among the miners. The ship Piako has completed her discharge, and is taking in ballast preparatory to proceeding South to load. She will probably shift out into the stream in a day or two.
