ROYAL HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
-o CAMELLIA SHOW. A camellia and flower show, under the auspices of the Royal Horticultural Society, will take place to-day at the Newmarket Hall. The show will be a most attractive one, and will no doubt excite a great deal of interest, as it is the first of a series of three to be held, and the exhibits, for which prizes are offered, include camellias, cyclamens, cinerarias, primula, cut flowers, bouquets, and fruits. Entries will be received up to half-past nine this morning, by which time all exhibits must be in the hall, as the judging will then commence, anil the show will be open to the public at one p.m. All tho exhibits, unless specially excepted, will be sold by auction at the close of the show, and a band will be in attendance during the afternoon and evenning. This, as already stated, is the firstof three shows. The second will be held next Saturday in town, and the third on tho following Saturday in Ponsonby ; and as active committees are engaged in the three districts, there will be the keenest competition in every class, as each district will vie with the others for the honours. We have no doubt there will be a large attendance at this afternoon's show. The committee have already made good progress with the decoration of the hall and the arrangement of the tables.
