ARTHUR AND lU'l'->I.K'S WrKKI.Y RFrouT, —The week has been a fairly busy one in all departments. There have been eight sales by auction ; these have been well-attended. A sale of unredeemed pledges from Mr. J.. Levy, pawnbroker, Victoria-street, took place at the Mart on Monday ; the attendance was very large. The sale continued about six hours, and ?. great numb.T of bits of watches, jewellery, books, clothing. etc., were sold at very satisfactory prices. Two sales of drapery, clothing, etc.. have been held : on Tuesday, clearing [ the stock of Mrs. T. 15. Smith, at her shop, Karanga- | hape Road, which was largely attended, and good i prices were obtained. On Thursday at the Mart, when bidding was dull and prices ruled in favour of the purchasers, a quantity of stud changed hands. One sale onlv for household furniture, etc., held at rice mart on Wednesday, the demand was limited, and bidding languid, still a fair amount of business was done. One sale of properties ar the mart on lif - lay ; these were sold by order of the Registrar oi the Supreme Court, and were purchased by tile mortgagees. Dead rabbits, not so plentiful, sold well.
