FLOODS IN ENGLAND.
[press association.] London, August 5. Owing to recent heavy rains, low-lying lands and tenements round the city have been submerged by floods. The traffic on the railways has been blocked, and great distress prevails in many quarters. Hundreds of* animals have been drowned, and several large breweries are flooded out. Subscriptions are now being raised for the relief of the sufferers. The weather has now cleared.
